Established in 1957, the Romanian Cultural Association of Hamilton is the oldest Romanian Association in Ontario.
Probably the best description of the organization has been written by George Bălaşu, one of the founders of the association, we summarize a few of the important facts about the Association.
The Association’s goal to promote the Romanian cultural values, has been embraced by many cultural personalities and by Romanian communities in Canada, and other countries. The Canadian Government has recognized the association’s important contribution in maintaining and developing the cultural identity of the Romanian Canadian minority and has provided important financial support.
With this support the organization has bought the park, built the reception room, the museum and the library.
The Romanian Park and the cultural center that the association built brought together renown artists like Nicapetre, whose awesome sculptures can be admired in the park today.
So, visit the St. Mary chapel, the intriguing energy field that some believe has healing properties, enjoy the art pieces in the park, and the beautiful landscape.
